This mod adds support for HD textures and a lot of options for better looks and performance. Doubling the FPS is common. OptiFine HD D2 Ultra for Minecraft 1.5.2 (has all the features of Standard, Smooth, Multi-Core and AA, highly configurable)
This mod is made by sp614x, all credit to modder. Please visit the original mod thread here for all info.
For maximum FPS use:
- Graphics: Fast
- Render Distance: Short/Tiny
- Smooth Lighting: OFF
- Performance: Max FPS
- AdvancedOpenGL: Fast
- Clouds: OFF
- Fog: OFF
- Animations: All OFF
- Sky: OFF
- Stars: OFF
Installer Instructions:
Before installing any mods to minecraft make sure to close minecraft.
Download one of the installers below (no difference they are same, just packed differently) Once downloaded, double click the installer and click “Install Mod”. When the installer is done it will display a message that the mod is installed. Then just close installer and start your minecraft. The mod has been Installed, you don’t have to do anything else.
If you are using windows 7 and get a message after using the installer that says “This program might not have installed correctly” ignore this message or you can disable this message by using this file here.
If you get an error when using the exe version of the installer download the zip version below, extract the folder from the downloaded zip to desktop and run the installer from the extracted folder. Don’t remove it from the folder. You can also try running the installer as administrator if you are on windows 7.

This mod should be installed on clean minecraft! This mod (at the moment) does not work with Forge or ModLoader or the mods that use them. Clear your mods and config folders then install this mod!
If you are having issues after installing this mod, force update minecraft and install on clean minecraft. Tested and working on clean minecraft. Some mods can cause conflicts.

You need to clear your mods, config and coremods folders of all files and force update minecraft. To do this you can use any installer. On the installer click on options then click “Minecraft Folder” when the folder opens delete the following folders: mods, config, coremods. Then run minecraft and right before logging in click options then click force update minecraft. Now go back to minecraft and log in, minecraft should download a clean version and you are ready to install any mod. Just close minecraft and install.

Make sure minecraft is closed when installing the mod also you can try resetting the installer click on options then click reset installer.
